Step 2: Bidding on the Goldfish you want

Goldfish Watch Lists

You can now mark multiple goldfish that you are interested in on your own watch list.  There is a link on all of our auction views that allow you  to add a fish to your watch list (Figure 2.2).  Once you have marked goldfish into your watch list you can view only those marked fish under the “Watch List” link at the top of the site (Figure 2.3).

Bidding on Goldfish

As seen in Figure 2.2, you can bid on an goldfish by entering the desired bid amount and selecting “Place Bid” or using the “Buy Now!” feature (if available).  Our auctions use the “Max Bidding” feature, which means that your bid amount is only increased when another bidder raises their bid.  For example, on an auction starting at $50, you could place a bid of $100 and the bid would only be increased to $55 if no other bids were placed (bids are increased in $5 increments). Should another bidder place a bid of $65 then your corresponding bid would be raised to $70.

Last Minute Bidding Time Extension

A new feature to the site is the last minute bid time extension.  This feature automatically extends the ending time of a goldfish auction when a bid is placed very close to the end of the auction.  This allows all users a last chance to win the auction should their bid be surpassed at the last second.

Step 3: Won Auction Goldfish Check

My Account Page

Once an auction has ended you can view the goldfish you won under the “My Account” link at the top of the website (Figure 3.1). From the my account page you can view all the various items you have bid on.  Select the option under “Won Items” or “Outstanding Payments” to begin the checkout process (Figure 3.2).  Select “Checkout and Pay” next to the item you won to confirm the shipping address and select a date when you want your fish shipped (Figure 3.3).

Step 4: Confirm Shipping Detail and Select Shipment Date

The final step of the checkout process is to confirm your shipping address information and select a shipment date.  All of our Goldfish are shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight Delivery so it is important to select a date when you will be available to accept delivery of your fish.  See our Shipping Info page for more information regarding available shipping dates.  Figure 4.1 shows the checkout confirmation page with the box to select the deliver date.

Holding your Goldfish Order

We understand the high demand for some of these fish, along with the uncertainties of the auction format.  Many times customers will win only one, or some, of the fish they were bidding on.  To help optimize shipping costs,  we  offer customers the option to hold their order for up to two weeks.  This will allow them the opportunity to win more goldfish through our auctions and to benefit from combined shipping savings. If you would like to place your order on hold, then simply select click the link to place your Fancy Goldfish order on hold (Figure 4.3).
