Description

I imported some of these over 8 years ago, and found them to be amazing fish.  Very friendly , SUPER responsive and ACTIVE, and extremely hardy and robust.   They were called “black comets”, but I understood them to be a hybrid of sorts.  I verified that they are a koi/comet hybrid when I visited China.  I also discovered that they’ve become extremely popular in the European market.  The creator of this fish has finally given it a proper name…. Ebony scissortail.  These can get large showy broad tails on them as they grow, but will not get nearly as big as Koi.  I have some that are about 9 years old, and they are about 18 inches with huge tails.  Very unique and interesting fish, and much more hardy than most fancies.  Photos don’t do them justice.  This one is a slightly lighter color that is very pretty.  Spawned in spring of 2015, this one is already quite large and impressive.
