I imported some of these over 8 years ago, and found them to be amazing fish.  Very friendly , SUPER responsive and active, and extremely hardy and robust.  They were called “black cometsâ€, but I understood them to be a hybrid of sorts.  I verified that they are a koi/comet hybrid when I visited China.  I also discovered that they’ve become extremely popular in the European market.  The creator of this fish has finally given it a proper name…. Ebony scissortail.  These can get large showy broad tails on them as they grow, but will not get nearly as big as Koi.  I have some that are about 9 years old, and they are about 18 inches with huge tails.  Very unique and interesting fish, and much more hardy than most fancies.  Photos don’t do them justice.
